Two CATRIN representatives win UP award for non-academics

Palacký University has recognized its outstanding non-academic employees for the second time. Among the honourees were Human Resources Manager Ivana Saitzová and Secretary Dalibor Jančík, who received an extraordinary award for non-academic employees and UP staff, following a nomination by CATRIN’s top management.

“We greatly appreciate their contributions and thank them for their dedication. The work of non-academic staff often goes unnoticed, but it is absolutely vital. Thanks to their efforts, CATRIN staff receive the support they need, and optimal conditions are created for them to work on their projects and advance the research institute,” said Lukáš Spíchal, Head of CATRIN-CRH, as he presented the award to the recipients on behalf of CATRIN.

A total of 19 nominees were put forward by faculties, the research institute, the Accommodation and Dining Office, the Rector’s Office, and other university units. This award, which acknowledges administrative, technical-economic, and working-class professions, was introduced by the university’s Rector, Martin Procházka, last year to mark the 450th anniversary of Palacký University.

“I deeply value this nomination from CATRIN’s management and appreciate that Palacký University has introduced this award. It is a great source of motivation for me to continue my work,” said Ivana Saitzová, who has been instrumental in managing CATRIN’s most critical asset—its people—since the institute’s establishment. She oversees recruitment, guides the hiring process through to the signing of contracts, supports employee development, and ensures a safe working environment. As HR Manager, she bridges the gap between employees, CATRIN’s management, and its research groups.

“I was pleased to receive this recognition. It serves as invaluable feedback from the Director of CATRIN. However, I view this award not just as an acknowledgment of my effort but also that of the entire team, which consistently supports and inspires me,” said Dalibor Jančík, one of the key figures at CATRIN. As Secretary, he manages non-scientific operational activities, oversees CATRIN’s budget, coordinates project grants administration, and handles numerous other responsibilities. His role is essential in providing researchers with the resources they need to succeed while minimizing their administrative burden.
