Phytochemists have presented research at a PSE conference
Members of the CATRIN Phytochemistry Group attended an international conference organized by the European Phytochemical Society (PSE) in Antalya, Turkey, in mid-October to bring together scientists dealing with natural products and food. The main theme of the conference was current approaches and perspectives in natural drug discovery.
The head of the research group, Petr Tarkowski, gave the keynote lecture entitled Hyphenated techniques as tools for assessing the quality of plant production and monitoring plant growth and development. In addition, he chaired one of the conference sessions. Sanja Ćavar Zeljković was also among the speakers with a lecture on mint cultivation in the Czech Republic and the composition and bioactivity of this plant.
In the poster session, Tibor Berés presented the topic Sugar and Flavonoid Profiles of the Czech Shallot Germplasm Collection, Dominika Kaczorová shared her research on Phytochemical Profiling of High-CBD Cannabis Extracts and their Antiviral Activity, Ondřej Vrobel focused on the Analysis of Plant Hormones Using Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography and Jan Dehner on the Phytochemical Analysis of Blackberry Fruits.
