7th Barrande Bioscience Meeting will be Organized by CATRIN

Participants of the Czech-French Bioscience conference—Barrande—will talk about the use of nanoparticles and nanosystems in the diagnosis and treatment of certain diseases. The conference, organized for the first time by the Czech Advanced Technology and Research Institute (CATRIN) of Palacký University in collaboration with the Strasbourg Graduate School of Biotechnology, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and the University of Strasbourg under the auspices of the Embassy of France in Prague and the French Institute Prague, will take place on October 9–11 at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine.

“We are pleased that after almost a three-year break, French and Czech scientists in the field of biosciences are meeting again and will discuss the latest results, exchange experience and, above all, initiate new cooperation across different research disciplines and topics,” said the conference organizer Kateřina Poláková, who leads the Nanomaterials in Biomedicine research group at CATRIN.

The experts will focus on five research topics that cover a significant part of biosciences. These are nanosystems and drug transport, nanosystems and imaging, drug design and administration, chemistry applied to biological systems, and nanocarriers. “Individual lectures will be presented by renowned scientists in the given fields. Young researchers will participate in the conference with their results and the contact with renowned mentors should further advance their scientific careers,” added Poláková.
