Our mission is to carry out interdisciplinary research into emerging nanotechnologies, biotechnologies and biomedicine at the highest international level, alongside their further advancement and application.
Our history
The Czech Advanced Technology and Research Institute (CATRIN) was established as a higher education institute of Palacký University Olomouc in 2020, formed by the integration of the scientific teams belonging to the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research (CRH), the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCPTM) and the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine (IMTM). These three research centres were built between the years 2010 and 2013 and their research teams have been substantially expanded and internationalized since then thanks to the support of the Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovation (OP RDI), National Sustainability Programme (NPU) and Operational Programme Research, Development and Education (OP RDE).
